Carl R. Kelemen

RLA, FASLA, Principal

 

Carl is the firm’s owner and Principal Landscape Architect.  He is a Registered Landscape Architect in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland, and a Licensed Landscape Architect New Jersey.

 

In his 45-year career, Carl’s diverse experience has included: site planning; landscape, grading, planting, irrigation system, site and landscape lighting design services for governmental, commercial, residential and non-profit clients.  He has prepared award-winning park and recreation plans, construction documents, trail plans, and residential designs.  He worked in the design-build world for over 8 years, gaining valuable hands-on construction experience.

In addition to his full-time practice, Mr. Kelemen has been a featured speaker at professional seminars and has made presentations to countless civic groups.  He has taught Landscape Design/Build courses to homeowners in lifelong learning environments at community college evening programs in Pennsylvania and Virginia.  He has taught semester-long Landscape Architecture courses at Spring Garden College, Temple University and Jefferson (formerly Philadelphia) University and has been a guest lecturer and design critic at Philadelphia area high schools, colleges and universities.

Carl now spends much of his time as a highly experienced expert witness.  He has worked with dozens of clients on law suits involving landscape-related cases, including:  property infringement, construction failures, trips/falls, landscape maintenance, grading and drainage, flooding, and ADA compliance.  Attorneys in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Missouri, and South Carolina have sought his expertise.
